Iranian documentary ‘Alone among Taliban’ is to vie at the Marbella Int'l Film Festival in Spain.

Iranian documentary ‘Alone among Taliban’ has been scheduled to vie at the Marbella International Film Festival in Spain.

Directed by Mohsen Eslamzadeh, the length of the film has increased for 8 minutes to take part at the feature length films section of the international film festival.

The 65-minute documentary details the director’s 15-day stay among the Taliban in Afghanistan.

‘Alone among the Taliban’ is a joint production of Iran and Afghanistan, showing the filmmaker’s visits to people’s homes and to the jails and courts, while conducting interviews with local authorities and documenting the way they think and govern their state.

The documentary has already garnered rave reviews including awards such as the best documentary award at the 44th Athens International Film and Video Festival (AIFVF) in Ohio, the US.

In its domestic screening, the film was first screened at the ninth edition of Iran’s International Documentary Film Festival ‘Cinema Verite’ in December 2015, winning the International Shahid Avini Award for the Best Mid-Length Documentary.
